MVP Ready-To-Grow bag – Mykolaborian
If you’re a fan of mycology and interested in observing mushrooms under a microscope, the experience you’ll surely get from the MVP growkit, which contains biological material, will be beyond excellent. MVP, or Most Valuable Producer, is the next iteration of Psilocybe cubensis, which draws its origins from the Golden Teacher strain.
This strain is the result of two things: on the one hand, the knowledge researchers have about mushroom genetics, and on the other – the ability to undergo the TAT mutation (True Albino Teacher growkit available on this website), or more specifically, the OG TAT variant. Besides mutating easily, it produces amazing results with other crosses. Initially, OG TAT was combined with Melmack, a highly productive strain, to create the True Albino Melmack (TAM) strain – also a strong producer. It was from this strain that the MVP growkit was developed, although its characteristics differ from those of its predecessor (it lacks albino traits, among other things).
Characteristic Features of MVP
What characterizes the MVP growkit is its incredible colonization speed and its mega-producer nature. For this reason, it is recommended primarily for intermediate and more experienced mycology enthusiasts who want to make in-depth observations. MVP will surely surprise many!
Since this is a non-naturally occurring strain, a hybrid of other Psilocybe cubensis species, licensed laboratories cultivate fruiting bodies with two distinct phenotypes – one resembling the Penis Envy strain, and the other resembling baubles or eggs. Young caps are more brownish in color, while mature caps turn yellow-beige. The ripening process, which would theoretically allow for the cultivation of an MVP growkit, takes about two weeks.
This is not without its richness in alkaloids characteristic of the psilocybe group – the concentration of these compounds is significantly higher than in shorter-maturing varieties. The best temperatures for fruiting body growth are around 21-25° Celsius. Maturity can be determined, among other things, by the softness of the stem (the softer the stem, the more mature the fruiting body). It should be added that this variant does not shed spores.
These observation kits are virtually maintenance-free. There’s no need to fill them with water, ventilate them, or tape them. It’s worth remembering, however, that the MVP growkit is for observational purposes only, and this type of cultivation is prohibited by law. However, if you’re an avid mycologist looking for new specimens to observe, you’ll definitely be happy with this purchase. The MVP growkit weighs approximately 2 kg, giving you plenty of material for amateur research. You can also check out other varieties, including the Leng growkit, which is another Golden Teacher isolation variant.
