Too Big Too Handle, or TBTH, is a Psilocybe cubensis variety derived from the Melmac line and selected for exceptionally large, substantial fruiting bodies.
The TBTH grow kit is Mykolab’s flagship genetic line and is available exclusively from the brand.

About Too Big Too Handle
TBTH traces its roots to Melmac, one of the most distinctive lines within the Penis Envy family. Melmac is known for considerable morphological variation, ranging from short, compact forms to much larger specimens with thick stems and broad caps. Selection for Too Big Too Handle focused on the latter characteristic. The result is a line that regularly forms very large fruiting bodies while retaining the irregular shapes associated with Melmac.
Morphology
Structure and appearance of Too Big Too Handle
The defining feature of TBTH is its scale. The fruiting bodies develop very thick, long stems topped with large, broad caps in shades of brown. Individual specimens may twist or take on irregular forms, so the proportions can vary from one fruiting body to another. Unlike lines distinguished mainly by colour or subtle cap shape, TBTH is recognised primarily by the size and mass of its structures. Development is comparatively steady, and the fruiting bodies may take longer to reach their full dimensions than those of many classic cubensis varieties.

Development
Development profile of Too Big Too Handle
TBTH does not release spores in the way typical of many classic Psilocybe cubensis lines, so visible spore deposits are not a reliable maturity indicator. Young fruiting bodies remain firm and compact. As they mature, the stems gradually soften and become more springy, while the caps expand and preserve the irregular structure associated with Melmac genetics. Texture and overall proportion are therefore more informative than a single visual event.
In short
Why choose Too Big Too Handle?
The Too Big Too Handle grow kit focuses on one immediately visible characteristic: exceptionally large, substantial fruiting bodies. It shows how far selective work can shift the morphology of the Melmac line while preserving its irregular character. As Mykolab’s exclusive flagship genetic line, TBTH has a clearly defined position within the wider Psilocybe cubensis range.
